Our Timber

Why Our Timber Stands Out

At BTDW, we don’t simply manufacture doors and windows we help shape homes and projects of lasting quality and architectural presence.

Timber is more than a design decision. It is a performance choice, a longevity choice, and ultimately a confidence choice. That’s why we work with a curated selection of premium hardwood species suited to Australian conditions, including ;

Architectural Oak, New Guinea Rosewood, Blackbutt, Cedar, Silky Oak, Merbau (Kwila), Accoya, Amoora, Spotted Gum, Tasmanian Oak and Victorian Ash, along with other species where a particular project requires it.

These species offer versatility in grain, tone, and finish, allowing timber to sit comfortably within contemporary architecture, coastal homes, and refined renovations. Each brings its own character and contributes to the sense of material depth that timber offers.

Every BTDW window and door is crafted locally with long-term performance in mind. Materials are selected with consideration to climate, exposure, and the architectural intent of the home ensuring the joinery feels resolved and appropriate to its environment.

The Process

To keep the process simple, timber selection is guided through direct consultation rather than left to guesswork. Clients speak with Paul, who brings his engineering approach to material suitability and stability, supported by more than 40 years of joinery experience from our master craftsmen in the workshop. This combination allows us to recommend species that feel both practical and aesthetically aligned — without the need for clients to become timber experts.

Final timber selection, profiles, finishes, and construction details are confirmed at quotation stage to suit the specific requirements of each project.
